Served in a wine glass
This beer pours pale yellow with a slight haze. It is topped with an inch of off white head that leaves little lacing.
The foraged spices come through nicely in the smell. I also get tart lemon and spiced pear.
It is sour with lemon and earthy flavors. The spices are present but in the background. The finish is dry.
Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel
I think I would like this beer better without the foraged spices. Lavender is not my favorite, but at the same time it gives a good sour beer a uniqueness that can't be dismissed. It is better than a lot of sour beers out there.
