Nucleated Tulip
Look: Golden straw color, pouring near-zero head. Only a small ring of head on this one
Smell: Like a zesty, vanilla sherbet. Strong lemon notes and large vanilla sherbet. Slight wheat note hiding in there too
Taste: Lemon tartness followed with orange-vanilla sherbet. The finish contains toasted wheat and orange creamsicle.
Feel: Clear flavor notes and a light-medium body
Overall: Delicious beer which met expectations and the description on the side of the can.

Both relationships and sour ale are difficult. To do well with either it takes a lot of time, dedication and often some imagination too. So when Streetside celebrates a special union within their brewery, they do so with a sour ale that celebrates fruit flavor and vanilla in perfect harmony.

Mildly hazy with a champagne and chrome straw color, a scant froth decorates the surface. An utterly unbelievable candied scent of vanilla cream, sour fruit candies and taffy drift across the nose just ahead of a supple sweet taste of sweetheart candies, sourdough and sherbet come to mind with the very first sip.

As the beer rolls along the middle palate, its candied sweetness dissolves rapidly on the tongue to reveal a sour taste of lime, lemon, white wine, gooseberry, crabapple and sharply sour, but clean lactic acid. Soothed by the flavor of vanilla, a rounded taste of cream candy comes once more on route to a champagne finish of briskness, hay and burlap.

Light in body, crisp, clean and highly refrehsing, the ale lightens to the extent that it threatens weakness and watery textures. But its effortlessness in consumption and its whimsical taffy fruitiness simply seduce the tastebuds too much to discard. A quick and sour sherbet taste eventually frame its taste with a sudden closure.
