Something, something, something Dark Side. Something, something Streetside and Pontoon's plan for galactic beverage domination is complete! The big homies from Pontoon came up and brewed a thick ol' Pastry Stout with your bois and we decided to give it the chocolate and marshmallow treatment in honor of a family brownie recipe. This stout might not be a beer the Jedi would share with you, but we certainly will!

Overall this tastes alright, and definitely gives off a pastry vibe. Pours shimmering and thick, black, and looking like oil, with no foam or lacing. Smells like cake batter and apple brandy, which is pretty much what it tastes like too. Kind of sickly sweet, chocolate and marshmallow, but with spicy hops and barrel presence poking through. Consistency of thick syrup. No alcohol burn—for such a high ABV it is quite easy to drink because the sweet adjuncts cut down the alcohol and relegates it to the background. The apple brandy is interesting, but I’m of a mixed mind whether it actually makes sense with marshmallows and chocolate.

16 ounce can into a snifter. A 2022 release, had 11/1/23.
Pours an opaque dark brown, with a brief head and speckled foamy cling. Aromas of marshmallow, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, malt, cocoa. Matching flavors: chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, malt, cocoa, some marshmallow. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
The standouts are the chocolate, vanilla and barrels. Focused but really tasty. Was well worth the purchase at a great price point.
