I hadn’t heard of Streetside Brewery before this one, but it’s hard to turn down an apple brandy barrel aged beer. It’s not something you see often so I think they’re fun to grab when available. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a very dark brown with a finger of creamy dark tan head that fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is quite sweet here, but there's a balance to the pastry vibes. I'm picking up on aromas of poached pear, white chocolate, brown sugar, raisin, baked apple, vanilla ice cream, toasted oak, burnt caramel, and light cinnamon
It's even sweeter in taste unfortunately, but does hit cloying levels. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting baked apple, vanilla frosting, milk chocolate, apple brandy, pear skin, sweet caramel, molasses, and light oak. The swallow bring notes of baked apple, funnel cake, vanilla frosting, sweet caramel, white chocolate, smooth oak, cinnamon, poached pear, and light walnut
A full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a rich beer. Finishes neutral but the presence of the booze is well known
This is a heavy ass beer, but a very fun one. It could have stood being a bit less sweet but it was good as is
