I love the art, and I love this brewery, but this paticular beer is average, closer to an amber than a gold beer, and too many dark notes, still love the art, but not a favourite

a nice flavorful golden ale here for those who like them a little more robust and flavorful than the standard, which both my dad and i certainly did last night. cool art on their cans here, all real identifiable and groovy looking. this is brass colored beer with a tall white head on it and decent clarity, tons of carbonation too. there is a light nuttiness to this that is usually reserved for darker colored beers that employ toasted and kilned malts and the like, but its distinct in this, not huge or heavy or anything, but well beyond the standard for the style. i think it pairs up well with their yeast strain in here, which has a lightly english element to it, more flavorful than most and the combination gives the beer a ton of character for a basic golden ale. we enjoyed this with grilled chicken, but could easily see this working with just about any food, from oily to spicy to mild, real versatile. i liked this quite a lot, mostly for being a little something different. if you are expecting or craving the bland and boring blonde, you will need to look elsewhere.
edit: this might be an easy beer to lose in a crowd of other beers in the same session, but on its own, with a piece of spiced fish, its pretty awesome. more citrus and sweet in the middle than i really picked up on the first time around, and a frothy bubbly feel that didnt stand out to me before either. not just a drinker, but a pretty layered little light beer. nice.

Draft at the brewery. Medium golden, head subsides, nice lacing. Welcoming aroma of fresh bread. Taste is full and grainy, chewy mouthfeel. Full and tasty. Minor bitter notes at the end finish it off.
