12 oz crowler from Craft Brewers. Dark brown body, clear, but too dark to see through. Nutty aroma with a hint of coffee. Woody, nutty flavors, light coffee and a nice bitter finish.

On tap and served in a chalice;
A: Hazed reddish-brown, very light-colored, with a creamy off-white head and good lacing.
S: Nice coffee notes with a bready and nutty base layer; basically, what you would expect from a coffee brown, well-executed and inviting.
T: Coffee is the most dominant flavor without being overpowering...lots of nutty and bready notes, hints of chocolate, with a nice roasted quality, and a flash of caramel sweetness on the finish.
MF: Creamy light/medium body.
O: The sweetness is a nice touch on a brew with such distinct coffee and roasty notes. Its definitely packed with flavor for a 5% abv brown.

a coffee spiked brown ale, and a very unique and robustly flavored beer. i think some curious elements from the base brown come through, a yeasty thing, some fruitiness, always been something a little strange to that one for me, if this is in fact the naked sunbather as a base, which i suspect it is. but the coffee is bold in this darker brown ale, and it totally transforms it into something else entirely. this has a deeply roasty aroma and flavor to it from the coffee, warming in the nose, with some chocolate richness to it, more intense in the taste, bitter to finish, penetrating and lasting. there is a bit of a bite to this, and it almost seems bitter from hops too, not just coffee. its not too much, although its mighty robust as it warms, more than anticipated for sure. there is a light smoke to this, some nutty malty character, and a bit of sweetness through it as well that keeps it balanced. good fuller body to support all the flavor, but definitely still a pint beer, bold but drinkable, at least for me, but im a coffee freak. to me this is a bit more of a fall or winter drink than a summer one, if it were drier and lighter it might have more of an iced coffee vibe that would work in warm weather, but its more substantial than that, and seems like it would work better in a different season, but its tasty beer overall. i was impressed with just about everything we had in here yesterday!
