i think its neat they are doing a collaboration for endangered or threatened wild life, and its just as cool that this was, no kidding, four bucks off at the grocery store this afternoon, what a piping hot deal! its nice beer, a simple pils, perhaps a little more malty and sturdy than some, but from what i know about these guys, thats kind of their style, and it works here because the lager yeast has some flavor too, and the beer finishes dry, so it stays drinkable, even if this is seemingly more flavorful overall than most of its peers. its only moderate on the bittering hops, and has a cleanness to it, just a touch amateur to me, but the beer is balances and quite good on the whole. its got light honey and biscuit notes on the grain side, a definite european character there. its pretty in the glass too, with a high white head two inches tall and with great retention, good clarity, and a bit of body evident. a touch of spice to the hops, but not out of proportion at all. robust but still identifiable as a pils for sure, mostly due to the grain profile. good cause, solid beer, excellent price point. ive been committing myself to at least a sixer of just drinking beer each weekend of late, and this one certainly drinks...

12 oz can from Boise Co-OP. Medium golden, clear, bright, foamy head subsides to small patches. Aroma is malty, fresh bread. Taste starts with the mslts, mild sweetness a d then a nice sharp hoppy bite comes in. Very well balanced brew.
