possibly an exclusive for heritage hop haus, i have not seen this anywhere else and they used to get chili beers from powderhaus before they went away or got sold or whatever. this is solid, jalapeno i think, roasted kind of to me, the essence of the pepper in rather pure form and only a little bit of heat, in the throat, real late, not overdone at all, dialed i think, especially as a food beer. the base beer is basic but fine, clean on the ferment, off dry which works to balance some of the pepper heat late, and light enough in body to be a drinker, although i never want to pound on a beer like this. aroma and flavor of green pepper and chili spice, vegetal in a good way, and to me with light roast and smoke, like out front of the grocery store when they have the roaster going, one of the worlds best smells, but here tame and muted by some of the grain, mostly pale two row but could be some corn in here too, smooth and kind of long, not that light which i think is fine with all this flavor. there is nothing from the yeast or hops which is also fine, it lets a moderate dosing of the pepper come through easy. dont need four of them, but i was impressed with the effort and i think its a neat one for mad swede to take on, this is a little outside of what i know them for, but well done overall. dont be scared, this isnt that hot! more chips and salsa to me than a sushi restaurant, but thats not on the brewer...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
