Cloudy orange-tan color. Poured a short head that dropped to a patchy skiff in half a minute. The side of the glass is covered in small bubbles. Left a few thin strings of lacing.
Strong guava smell with a deep funk and a little bit of charred wood. Mild graham cracker malt scent. Some lemon shows up after a while. Swirling the glass kicked up a light barnyard smell that slowly faded back down to the original scents.
Very tart, almost puckering sour. An even blend of lemon and guava. A graham cracker malt flavor shows up as it warms, but it takes a while to fight through the tart fruit. Mild yeast to go with the malt. The aftertaste is a strong burst of tart guava. There is a light lemon flavor to go along with the tart.
Mild tongue tingling for a few seconds. Light unstructured foam. The tart is strong enough to cause a bit of reflexive tongue curling. Somewhat astringent.
Interesting, but it would help to follow the maxim "less is more". The guava and lemon were overpowering. Tart enough to cause a bit of pain. This doesn't really have much of a beer character. The flavor and tart are almost overwhelming by the end of the glass.
