Coming in at a svelte 4.6% abv with a full body but pleasant, slightly dry finish. Toasted biscuits and honey, with just enough bitter resin to balance it all out.

16 oz can

Pours clear golden, fine white head is fluffy and dissipates to suds.

Aroma of caramel and biscuit malts, little bit of lemon and grassy notes.

Flavor is of dry biscuit, maybe a bit of corn, and cereal grains with a dry hop finish.

Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Good taste, great body, very drinkable and very sessionable. This goes down super easy and is extremely well balanced. This could be in regular rotation for me.

Thanks to Pinz412 for this one from his box in NBS BIF #13. !6oz can (dated 2/18/21) poured into 12oz goblet (also courtesy Pinz). Poured a very cloudy dark orange color with 1/2 inch of white head that quickly dissipated and left no lacing.

Strong biscuit notes at the front of the nose, with some grain in the background, and soft, earthy hops around the edges.

Similar on the tongue; strong biscuit, nice grains, and the hops were a touch bolder and had a slight citrus taste.

The body was medium, smooth, and had a medium finish.

Drinkability was good, it would be a pleasant brew to have several of.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable brew. Certainly worth a shot if you see it.

Had this on 2021-03-06 near Pittsburgh, PA from a 16oz canned on 2021-02-18

A - Cloudy tangerine with a 2-finger pillowy-white head and good lace.

S - Rising bread, orange spice tea, floral

T - Lightly-toasted fresh bread with orange marmalade. Mint. Mild sweetness compliments the pleasant bitterness. It's a very layered taste experience.

M - Medium-full body and light-medium carbonation. Dries nicely.

O - Very enjoyable smell, taste and feel. At only 4.6% it really delivers the goods. Recommended.

Dancing Gnome's Bants pours a cloudy pale amber with very little head from a moderate pour. A varying ring of suds clung to the side of the glass as I worked my way through it. The aroma had a slightly sweet toasted malt note to accompany the biscuit/bread aromas. There was also some earthiness and some fresh cut grass. The taste was sweeter than I expected up front, and was filled out by the toasted biscuit malt. The finish was quite dry, and this is also where the bitterness was most noticeable. This all combined with the 4.6% abv to make it incredibly drinkable. A fuller body than expected help to balance the bitter finish. While my experience in the style is limited, I found Bants to be well balanced and highly crushable. Would drink again.

Wow for such a night ABV beer it packs a lot of flavor and balances with just the right amount of bitterness. Not too sweet either. Refreshing beer perfect for sessions.

Received as an extra in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy honey hue with a nice head that fades to lane lacing and a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of really nice toasted grains and malts, really nice hop profile, almost cascade like. Smells like brew day.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with more of the pleasant toasted grains and malts, light bitterness. There are pleasant light hops as well.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, body is light albeit thin.

O - Overall this was a very solid solid esb. Good toasted malts.

Canned 10/19/18, "Shalom" after the Synagogue shooting, thanks to rudzud

Pours a mild fizzy head, a little lacing, fair lacing, hazy orange color

Nose mild sweet blond malt and sweet malt, grassy floral hops, big cascade and bright hops a touch of citrus and fruit, plenty of toasted grain and toasted blond malts

Taste toasted grains again, blond malt with mild sweetness, quite toasted malt, fair hops too and again super fresh juicy cascade like, grassy and a bit floral, very grassy, some nice mild citrus and fruit, mild to fair bitterness increasing as it goes, a bit of sweetness up front drier finish

Mouth is med bod, decent carb

Overall not bad, pretty enjoyable for ESB with loads of fresh cascade, not too bitter like an ESB, quite tasty

Not a fussy beer filled with flavor of the week adjuncts, just a straightforward but very well done English pale ale. Crisp but not without body, light European floral hops, biscuit malt, doesn’t re-invent the wheel and doesn’t have “depth” but it hits all the right notes for the style
