This 11% hazy Triple IPA is hopped with a disastrous amount of hops for waves of flavors that cascade across the palate.

Dated 01/27/2025, into a wide wine glass.
Pours a dark orange with a small head that dissipates into nothing. Tons of lacing. Aroma is overripe fruit and mango alongside a spicy bitterness that I can only assume is alcohol. Flavor is insanity. Heaps of mango and aggressive tropical fruit accompanied by bitter, potent vegetal flavors that quickly take over. Vague ethanol that presents as more rotten fruit. There's so much stupid hop flavor in this thing and it goes from slightly sweet to really bitter extremely quickly. Mouthfeel is good, not too smooth, and the body is HUGE. This is 11% and you know it. Quite sticky on the finish but smooth, with a gnarly alcohol burn in the chest and not on the tongue. It's very fun in that the immense hop flavor isn't impeded by the alcohol.
In spite of being such a monster, this is a fun beer from Dancing Gnome, who, in my opinion, excels in single IPAs and interesting pale ales. Fern Hollow is insanity just like the incident it was named for, and an interesting sipper.
