look: 3.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75
On tap; poured into a pint glass.
Appearance- gold with just a little carbonation; medium white head that thins out as it sits and leaves decent lacing.
Smell - I detect more juicy citrus fruit and floral hops that set the tone for IPA's that I typically prefer!
Taste - promoted as a well balanced malty IPA, I get more hop forward and bitter rather than sweet! There is a very subtle spicy chili pepper thing going on too that provides a nice little kick!
Feel - a bit of dank bitterness that is sustained from first to last sip!
Overall - solid offering that I suspect with be Cheluna's best seller.

generic ipa just doesnt cut it here anymore, and this could be a million other start up brewery's ipa, a little too malty with the crystal, a little too conservative with the dry hopping, a little too careful on the varietals and a little overbalanced, metallic, and samey. not bad, ill drink this anytime, but with all the other beers here being so unique and inspired, i was pretty disappointed in the ipa. while freshness was there (it ought to be, they just opened!), i was not thrilled with the recipe. clear, but light caramel colored, a decent but thin white head on top of it. aroma of piney hops, C varietals it seems to me, a little bit juicy, but quite sweet in the taste, especially in the end where bitterness belongs more than residual sugar. not to be overly critical, i loved the beer here and enjoyed this ipa well enough, but all the other beers had a creative twist to set them apart, and this is easily lost in the shuffle, which was a surprise after tasting their other offerings. fine beer, but nothing at all special.
