In days past, many British pubs contained a small, very private room called a 'Snug', reserved for special clientele. Brewed in honour of the much-loved Snug at Victoria's Oak Bay Beach Hotel, this British-style IPA features a flavourful balance of crisp hop bitterness & delicate caramel sweetness. Bold, yet easy to drink, this 'session' IPA pays homage to the proud tradition of the public house. An excellent accompaniment to, steak & kidney pie, mussels & clams, cured meats, and sharp cheese such as cheddar or gruyere.

Appearance - Pours a copper with a finger of bubbly white head.
Smell - bready caramalts, earthy hops, and a hint of soapiness.
Taste - Bready caramalts followed by the bitter earthy hops and hint of soapiness.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant lingering bitterness.
Overall - A well executed English IPA. The flavours are spot on and the lingering bitterness took me by surprise. A definite go in my opinion.

Saltspring Is. Ales 'Snug IPA' @ 6.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $6
A-pour is a pale gold from the bottle to clear golden/amber in the glass with a small off-white head which is leaving a streaky lace along the pint
S-semi sweet PNW rain forest , not too much pine with a hint of ?
T-taste is more citrus first , grapefruit , then the pine follows in the finish
MF-ok/moderate carbonation , seems to feel full bodied
Ov-surprisingly good beer , decent IPA with a English flair , don't walk by give it a try
