12oz can poured into an ipa glass
A: Orange with a thin head that settles quickly
S: Lots of citrus, a hint of pine
T: Matches the nose, a bit of alcohol
M: Fairly full bodied, fairly hot
O: A slightly below-average DIPA. Nothing particularly NE about this that I can tell, fresh but not balanced

Copperygold with a nice head. Notes of tangerine. Nice hoppy biiterness but with a clean smooth finish. This is a top shelf IPA

This brewer was new to me and many of the down-state brewers have been suspect. This one works, though. It's unique and definitely imperial.

It opens cloudy yellow with embedded fizz that continues. The aroma is vaguely sweet and funky - like something juicy is coming. And it is. It tastes sweet and somewhat fruity. It's thick and rich on the tongue - you know that under all that sweetness is a bunch of alcohol. The aftertaste is sweetness and maybe a bit of the hops profile of a New England IPA.

Recommended. Be ready for sweet.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden; white head that falls leaving very nice retention and sticky lacing. Some sediment. It's hazy, but doesn't look like your classic "New England IPA". The aromas have a nice blend of citrus, floral and tropical notes. Malts are there. The flavors are on the sweeter side. It becomes somewhat balanced the more you drink it, but it's still sweet. Some apricot juice. Finishes juicy. Moderate bitterness. Subtle warmth in the finish, but the alcohol is hidden for the most part. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy and smooth. Dangerously drinkable.

This beer might be a little rough around the edges, but it's not bad. It's bold enough to standout. It has some "New England IPA" qualities, but it's definitely not your traditional example of the style. I wouldn't have known it was what they were going for if it wasn't on the label. It's juicy though.
