The Ranga is a malty, red hued beer. El Dorado compliments the malt flavor with a candy like and stone fruit aroma.
We use Best Red X malt.

Look: Dark brownish red with a minimal cream colored head.
Smell: Resinous, like an ipa.
Tastes: A little malty but way over hopped for the style. Not sure, but I’d guess the ibu’s to be around 60. This tastes exactly like a very basic ipa.
Feel: It’s malty enough for the style.
Overall: Not a red ale. Maybe it’s red and an ale but it’s not to style and rather disappointing.

For myself, this feels much more like an IPA than it does a red ale, which is why I bought it. If you leave that part out it's a nice little refreshing drink with a nutty taste and mild yet enjoyable aroma.

I went to the brewery soft opening in October of 2016 and while they have a nice space, I wanted to give them some time to iron out their beers.
Over the next 15 months I haven't really heard any news about them or seen their beer for sale. But, while out one evening I saw The Ranga on draft and decided to give it another go.
To put simply, the beer was offensively bitter and unbalanced. It doesn't seem like they have improved their product; I don't know. Maybe this is what they're going for....

A: Pours an orange/reddish color. A one finger white head forms and recedes quickly. No lace is left behind.
S: Candied, sugary pears up front. Late addition and lingering bitterness. Not much else here. Overly simple and one noted.
T: Again, almost all late addition El Dorado hops. Candy sweetness/candied fruits witch gives this a sugary flavor. Lingering bitterness that last for a while. That is about it.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. Fairly clean and smooth. To one noted, and the lingering bitterness takes its tool after a while.
Really simple and one noted. Which right now is par for the coarse for this brewery. Not something I am particularly in a rush to come back to.
