A: Pours a dark brown color. A large beige head forms with good retention and lace.
S: I get some meaty, acrid smoke up front. Caramel malts and bread lingers on. Definitely smoked malt, as opposed to peat and makes it a bit jarring at first.
T: Like the nose, up front I get smoked meat, that is acrid and bitter. Caramel malts and plenty of sweetness after I get use to the smoke.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. Could be a bit smoother, and a little bigger. Not bad, and enjoyable for a pint.
While there are plenty of Wee Heavy's I like better, this is still fairly enjoyable. The smoke is more meaty BBQ like smoke, then the earthy peaty smoke. Not that one is better than the other, just an observation. Then it becomes fairly one noted with plenty of sweetness lingering. This is OK.
