Following the eerily prom-like vibe of the local craft beer fest (though still enjoyable enough, don't get me wrong), we decided to get some dinner and then visit one of the last remaining local breweries we haven't yet patronized: Bosacki's. The place is a fairly small joint at the tail end of a strip mall in downtown Mundelein, across the street from the vintage bowling alley that I swear I will one day bowl at (get off my back, mom!) consisting of an oddly-shaped wooden bar area in front of the brewing apparatus in back. Now, I had had some of their offerings years ago at one of the Mundelein craft fests, and my impression was decidedly negative; as such, expectations upon walking in the door were rather low, not gonna lie. Gotta say, though, my buddy and I were pleasantly surprised, as the quality of the slightly German-tilted range was pretty damn solid, if not outright strong. Always a fan of a tasty roggenbier when I can find one. As we imbibed, we chatted with the owner and had quite a good time, especially given the presence of the scavenger hunt of sorts that's passively going on in the background at all times (see if you can spot everything!) and the free helpings of popcorn. The whole experience had be looking forward to a potential future return, which is always a nice sign after visiting a new place. Though Tighthead will always have our hearts as one of our first truly local breweries, Bosacki's looks to have plenty to offer going forward.

A small mom and pop brewery and taproom located in a strip mall. The taproom isn't much to look at, but it is clean and comfortable. The beer selection leans toward lighter styles like lagers and wheat beers. Everything I tried tasted ok. Nothing bad, nothing great. The service was friendly and attentive.
