A complex beer with the punchy profile of Rye malt balanced by the rich almost nutty flavour of Maris Otter. Throw in heavy-handed late hops additions and you have a beer that challenges every taste bud on your palate.

Offering from my daughter’s fridge - given to her as a gift primarily because of the name and label. Had 8 ounces from 16 ounce can.
Pours a clear deep copper, almost pushing to mahogany, colour with a solid finger of dense tawny head.
Aroma certainly has notes of spicy rye malt, hints of caramel, a touch of a floral note.
Rye malt on the palate - soft spiciness that doesn’t quite pop, a bit of caramel and hints of pine but really limited bitterness.
Decent medium mouthfeel with average carbonation and a relatively smooth finish.
I suspect this is in fact quite a good rye IPA fresh, and drinkable now but after consuming noted the canned on date of Oct 2022 (3 years 4 months ago) - so well done in making a beer that has aged this well - no shade on the brewery!!!

You can really taste the rye. A bit too hoppy for a pale ale though, almost nudging ipa territory, but the rye really shines out with its dry spicy finish, nice mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, I can consider getting it again definitely.

Too hoppy. Too boozy.
