Pitch black body, the pour forming a sizeable coffee-crema head with great retention.
Solid aromas of dark roasted malt - coffee, bitter chocolate, also a bitter roast nuttiness, hints of vanilla sweetness.
The flavour follows the aroma with bitter roast coffee and dark cocoa, with a fair amount of acidity, and it's that bitter acidity that really lingers after repeated swigs; some minerality; medium body and carbonation, the feel is crisp, a touch watery.

Aggressive with the roast malt character, which I like, but would be a step up to have the bitterness managed better. Still, a nice change from a standard lager as you get into those colder months.
