Werkzeug Stadt - from Timber Creek (Mercer). Six-pack of 12 fl oz bottles purchased from the brewery, Mercer, PA, 30/05/24, $ 15.90 (Including tax), $ 0.220/fl oz. Reviewed 16/06/24 (Review 3300). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated containers. Stored in reefer at the distributor, 34 degrees at home. Served at 42.6 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 51.0 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), clear.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, slight haze.
Head – Average (Maximum 2.5 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density, good retention, leaving a 1.0 cm crown and thin, complete cap.
Lacing – Good. Tight rings of high-density tiny bubbles, with lacey veils descending and narrow columns connecting the rings.
Aroma – 3.75 – Begins weak with slightly grainy/malty nose backed by slightly floral hops. No yeast, no alcohol (5.5 % ABV, as marked on the label).
Flavor – 3.5 – Marked grainy maltiness and floral hoppiness. No yeast, no alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. No gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium; slightly thicker than watery; soft carbonation.
Final Impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal containers) Decent take on the Dortmunder style – what I routinely drink while eating at the brewery.
