From a tall boy, canned a month ago, into a tumbler, pours a somewhat dense rusty orange, with minimal head. Nose is pungent...kind of catty, wet garden, almost but not quite oniony, overripe papaya...idk. According to the website, the hop bill looks busy: cascade, Columbus, comet, daho 7, Simcoe. I’m getting less of the bright citrus possibilities and more melon and more of the dank and darker garden notes from the combo. Malts aren’t too pronounced, but there is a substantial body, without being heavy. Carb is on the low side, but it is a modestly lively mouthful, with a little zing on the edge...pretty wet, though, all things considered. got a lot going on, and a lot that is good...doesn’t quite all come together last legit could, for me, but glad I tried it. Worth a shot.

SRM 4-5 (dark gold to light orange). A one-half inch white head is composed of large bubbles, briefly, before falling to a thin blanket, leaving patches of sticky lace on a PBGC Hoppy glass. While not hazy, neither is it opaque, rather it is more opalescent and has the appearance of a sunrise just as its name suggests.
Tangerine is strong and fresh, followed by equally strong papaya. Later, some grapefruit and some spruce are also detected.
Bitterness is moderate and well-balanced to allow room for sweetness. The fruit flavor is superb and plays off all the aromas while adding mango. Ripe honeydew is also present and becomes stronger through the long, lightly bitter finish.
A hard, smooth texture works well with its full body. Carbonation is abrasive, while alcohol is as expected. A light astringency works well with the overall perception.
This was a very enjoyable beer. The fresh and fruitiness work well with light spruce and would be superb on a warm, sunny day. I enjoyed it on quite the opposite -- a cold, heavy, wet snow after work.
