A 330ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2018, so it's a bit out of date. Acquired a while back from a webshop. The label calls it a Dortmunder Export but otherwise doesn't give much away.
A: Poured into a pilsner glass. Possibly bottle conditioned. A rich amber colour with faint haze and low carbonation. Produces a large head of frothy off-white foam that lasts for a moment before rapidly settling and dissipating.
S: Aroma of light, grainy malt with hints of earthy yeast, faint leafiness and a twinge of stewed husks. OK - bland but clean.
T: Tastes of pale malt with notes of light grain, earthy yeast, faint hay, a touch of leafiness and a whisper of stewed husks. Pretty dry, followed by a crisp, understated bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, lightly tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and good body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of pale malt, grain, earthy yeast and faint leafiness.
O: Pretty good. Subpar looks, while the aroma and flavour are light and clean with a mild grainy character. Nice body. Perhaps a tad nondescript but well-crafted. Goes down readily enough; worth sampling.
