Copenhagen 19/12 2018. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. Red version of Boynes usual design with some ornaments and a Guard with a spear.
Pours hazy amber with small white head. Settles as thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is malty and sweet with a light touch of roastiness. Caramel, butterscotch, roasted malts and a hint of butter.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Solid Amber Ale which could use a little more raostiness and toastiness.

★★★½

500ml bottle from Reilly's, Fermanagh (£1.67):
Not a bad amber ale & easily the best of the three beers from the brewery that I've tried now, although it was still a little weak at times & far from a classic offering. Opening with a nice helping of sweetness that was backed up by pleasant biscuit malts & some caramel flavours, this one was a balanced beer that proved quite easy to drink throughout without being anything special. It was crisp & dry, especially towards the finish with a nice bitterness to see things out as well, although I'd have liked it more had it been a little stronger.
