Copenhagen 21/10 2018. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Borups Alle, Frb. Label looks like it made out of reused paper. Some cauldrons, a King's Crown and lonely guard with a spear- All in silhouette.
Pours opaque dark brown with very big tan head. Dense and fairly stable. Settles after some minutes as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is sweet, rich and dark. Bitter coffee, sweet chocolate with a bitter twist, caramel, light roastiness, brown sugar.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, creamy, velvety texture. Light buzzy prickliness.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by fairly strong coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a very light burn. Slightly metallic.
Satisfying Irish Stout which lives up to the tagline about Rich Roasted Coffee. A bit one-dimensional. But an utterly nice dimension.
