Here's another Christmas 2023 beer brought out from New Mexico. I dig this brewery. This is the first review of this beer for this Next Glass owned database. Its Spring 2025.
Pours a feint red/pink/yellow mixture of color. Scaled head is 5/8" off white. Two of my favorite cherries, bing and montmorency deliver cherry goodness for aroma. The wheat smack of a berliner weisse is largely obscured by the cherry wave. Light funk note has me wondering, I thought this was stainless steel, but perhaps not. I like my berliners a little more dry, vanilla, opposite of that. But the cherry was nice through and through. I bet without the vanilla I could tell if there was some woodiness. Obscures things that are usually nice to perceive. Still a solid beer at the end of the day.
The taste and mouthfeel had more vanilla than would have been ideal. Yes, it helped with that bing bite, in terms of smoothness, but I just prefer most styles, including berliner weisse without vanilla. Still good tasting, plenty of cherry, probably a 6 on the 1-10pt sour scale.
