18 ∆ MOS is an imperial mocha stout brewed with Dutch-process cocoa powder and Mostra VIP blend coffee beans. We brewed this rich beer to honor our buddy Dave's service as a Special Forces medical sergeant. This beer was dosed with Dutch-process cocoa powder in the mash to help bind the fats in the cocoa powder to the grist, but also allow the flavors to stay in solution as we rack over to boil. We then boiled the chocolatey wort with a hint of lactose, as is appropriate for this style. This ain't no kinderbier here kiddos. We then fermented the resulting wort with a mix of Nottingham and Whitbread strains, and steeped the finished beer with Mostra VIP blend coffee beans. Cheers Dave! Thank you for your service!

Had on tap. Deep dark black with a tan head and lacing. Roasted malt meets full dark chocolate and coffee in the nose. Taste starts the same, earth and slight campfire enter into the coffee depths, and a kiss of vanilla sugar rounds out the taste. Feel is roasty and chewy yet not heavy at all, goes down easy given the percolation from the coffee and the roast from the malt. Nice twist on a more classic stout
