Received from @lordofthweins. Poured from undated can into a Pilsner glass. It pours a cloudy, orange-brown with a thin, light khaki-colored head and minimal lacing. The smell is primarily bready malt with notes of caramel and burnt nuts. As it warms there is just a whiff of chocolate. There is no discernible hop presence in the nose. The taste opens with the same bready malt and caramel but there is more balancing dry spicy bitterness than I expected. It's mouth feel is robust for the modest 5% ABV and the carbonation level is appropriate. Overall, Danke Dunkel is well-crafted. It's always fun to drink this style.
