Shawn and Ed’s is as local as local can be for Dundas. Right in the middle of the town (though nicely off to the side, one street removed of the main thoroughfare through the area) it’s a perfect location. They’ve got a nice big garage door that opens that gives it a sort of local, Brewery next door kind of look.
Recommend everyone swings by on Wednesday for trivia night. It’s incredibly fun and a great way to enjoy a few beers with some excellent pizza and friends. They’ve always got events running in here for all sorts of different folks looking for different kinds of vibes.
Recommend the hard drunks and ‘I hate children’ drinkers (we’ve all seen that thread on BA…) avoid it. You’ll hate the fact that this is a local, truly homegrown operation. It, like all the other stores in Dundas, caters to everyone in the valley. This is why we all survived the pandemic and none of our business shuttered, unlike downtown Hamilton. They’ve got events for adults, events where kids can attend, it’s really enjoyable for everyone and that’s what makes this place a local stop for everyone. It’s growing through one of the toughest economic times, which is always great to see. Real localism lives and dies with the community at large, hardboiled alcoholics who pee their pants when they see a 7 year old want business to live and die with them, cater to them, stay small forever and they don’t care if it’s local or not as long as there aren’t any kids and nobody is having any fun as their livers all die.

It has survived the craft beer correction, with a good local crowd following. I haven't chased any of their beer, but it is drinkable. Lots of room, OK stop.
