Appearance - Pours a rosewood brown, mocha 1 finger head, dissipates to a thin layer, and a fine sandy lacing.
Smell - Heavy on the roasted malt, a hint of cinnamon and allspice. A hint of apple pie, raisins and cocoa.
Taste - A wholemeal sweetness, brown sugar, cherry kirsch, hazelnut, and dark chocolate. A subtle pepper contribution from the hops at the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel - Not very effervescent, but have left it at the back of the fridge a little long. Medium body, good oil, clean and refreshing however. An easy drinking dark.
Overall - A nicely spiced porter to bring something a little different, with the toasted and sweet flavours nicely balanced. Easy drinking.
