Aged in a Colorado Leopold Whiskey Barrel for 9 months
Appearance: Pours a flat root beer brown color; just a few bubbles around the rim
Smell: Caramel, bourbon and vanilla, with just a hint of pine
Taste: Caramel and pine tones, up front, with growing Bourbon, oak and vanilla flavors in the middle; earthy hop flavors build, into the finish, though the sweet caramel tones linger in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Full bodied but flat
Overall: Some nice barrel-aged barleywine flavors in this brew - too bad the carbonation is missing
Thanks, Doodler, for the opportunity

22 oz bomber from Mile High in Denver.
Rust brown color. Absolutely no foam on the pour into snifter.
Light smell on the nose for a barrel aged barleywine.
Sweet and smooth on the tongue. Similiar to Dry Dock's Bligh's but not as sweet.
Hoppy and slightly vegetal notes on the tongue compared to the Bligh's.
Soft and smooth. Would definitely get another bottle. Very good sipping brew.

Thanks to angelmonster for this one!
A: Pours a thin brown with red highlights. No head nor lacing at all.
S: There is some bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and toffee upfront with a slight medicinal/cologne aroma coming in afterwards. A little bit of alcohol too. As it warms a little bit of maple syrup comes out. The alcohol aroma comes out a lot more over time.
T: A little bit of pine, some vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, and a little bit of raisins and prunes. There is a bit of vanilla and bourbon. No alcohol here though.
M: In a word, flat. No carbonation at all. I had a feeling it might be flat when I popped the cap and there was no hiss at all. The lack of carbonation makes it quite difficult to drink.
O: Had high hopes for this beer, but it didn't really live up to my expectations. Besides being a rather unattractive beer the lack of carbonation was the biggest problem I had with it. The aroma and flavor profile was pretty good, but would have probably been much better with a little carbonation behind it.
