Our first canned stout! Rich, intensely bready, and roasty with a delicate fruitiness, this surprisingly smooth stout features Ethiopian coffee from Presta roasters in Tucson.

Got in a trade with AZBeerDude72. 16 ounce can into snifter, no can dating. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense/creamy/rocky light khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Amazing appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grass, pepper, roast, charred, coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 10.5% after the finish. Overall this is an incredible imperial coffee stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; fantastic soft feel for the style/ABV. Amazing balance of rich malts and fruity/nutty Ethiopian coffee complexity; with solid earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example.

*2nd Review 7-5-19*
Nose is definitely more coffee robust with this edition. The taste is definitely more coffee foward as it overcomes the chocolate that seemed to dominate the previous version. The Look and Feel have not change as both are good. No change to the rating.

Picked up a 16 oz can from the Craft Beer Hop Stop on 5-28-18 for $4.75. Canned in May 2018; consumed 10-6-18.
Beer poured black with a nice tan head that has some pretty good hang time. - 4.0
Nose is roasted malts that have some chocolate. Slight hint of coffee lingers as well-4.25.
Taste is a very nice blend of chocolate and coffee over a moderate roast malt base. Finish is lightly hopped to balance some of the sweetness-4.25.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth-4.0.
Overall another tasty beer from Tombstone-4.25 (average - 4.21)!
