Extremely creamy and thick, almost like a glass of chocolate milk. Smooth with complex roasty and slightly smokey notes. You won't believe it's 12.5% ABV.

Appearance: Pours fudge brown with a one finger beige head that fades to a film but leaves splashy lacing behind

Smell: Milk chocolate, vanilla, charcoal, nuts and a hint of coffee

Taste: Milk chocolate and vanilla forward, with the nuts and charcoal flavors softening; a hint of coffee emerges, in the middle, but the finish is sweetened with brown sugar flavors

Mouthfeel: Full bodied but over-carbonated; the carbonation issues can be mitigated with a heavy swirl

Overall: A pretty nice Imperial Milk Stout, mouthfeel issues aside

Thanks, kevindp9, for the opportunity

Got in a trade with AZBeerDude72. 16 ounce can into snifter, no can dating. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with light notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with light notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, spicy, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, light dark fruit/smoke/char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a solid roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and slightly sticky/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 12.5%. Overall this is a fantastic imperial milk stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Amazingly soft/silky feel for the ABV. Amazing super rich malt complexity and balanced lactose flavors; with mild earthy hops, and fruity English yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazingly spot on English style example.

Picked up a single on 1-25-19 from the Craft Beer Quick Stop for $5.99. Canned in November 2018; consumed 5-6-19.

Beer poured black with a beautiful tan head with the initial pour that is leaving lots of lacing behind.

Nose is roasted malts and some sweet lactose.

Taste is really well balance with the roasted malts, lactose, and plenty of hopping to keep this really well balanced.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy smooth.

Overall a really well constructed milk stout. If i did not know this was a 12.5 abv beer, i would think i was drinking a 7 or 8% abv brew. Will do this again!
