A fairly gentle pour of a pint can into a pint Spiegelau IPA glass gets a head that just barely fits, subsides slowly, leaving excellent lacing. Color's around SRM 8: turbid with some nice little chunks of light orange gunk morsels. The can art is admirable, tho the dot-matrix info printed on its bottom has got all smushed into one blurry illegible dot. Presumably, a canning date would feature there if the printer had been working. No problem, the bierwerkers were working just fine on this very good malty hoppy delicious IPA. It's bitter enough to merit the "India" style name, with mainly citra and mosaic featured but also some other elegant Cannabaceae features layering the hop bouquet. Mouthfeel is clear and clean, with none of those muddy oat or wheat porridge murks the NEIPA brewers think an IPA deserves. I'm glad this is brewed in NY, as I'm a locavore by political philosopy, and will try to keep some of this handy in the stable of 10 beers worth top shelf space in my fridge.

Pours a hazy orange with a thick off white head.
A nice hit of citrus and bitter herb with malty bread notes.
A good hit of citrus - bitter orange - backed by bitter herb notes flowing to a balanced bread malt backbone.

On tap at Stoneyard Beer Hall and Grill in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a slightly dark-orange, with a small tight head, and lots of lacing.
Smells like burnt pine, candied pineapple, tangerine, and some slight caramel/breadiness from the malt.
This is a really solid local IPA. It's got a steely and firm bitterness on the finish, with a nice juicy hop blast up front- it's got some sweet, sugary pineapple, some orange peel, a little bit of a herbal, leafy, nearly a menthol thing that kinda works.
This is medium bodied, pretty crisp, with a good level of carbonation.
I've enjoyed the few beers that I've had from these guys. I'm excited to see their potential develop even further.
