Had on tap at Pier 53 Sodus Bay. Started out as a very nice looking porter... dark brown /black with some ruby accents to light. Frothy full tan/ dark blonde head. Nose was good with hints of chocolate and coffee. Flavor was rich with roasted malt; highlighted with coffee and some chocolate. Feel was creamy but had some bright carbonation burn around edges. Overall enjoyable. But then came back to it/same pour about 30 minutes later and found flavor was even richer @ room temperature ( as hoped)... but the feel was exceptionally good. Full; smooth and creamy. Top notch! All in all a very good beer.

On tap at Swillburger/The Playhouse in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a fairly dark brown, basically black, with a small foamy looking head, and a good amount of lacing.

This smells like gas station roasty coffee. It smells nice, but it's not the most evocative coffee aroma you'll ever encounter. There's some chocolate and smoke too.

This is definitely a nice attempt, but it's quite thin, and a little watery. The coffee flavor is very burnt, but tasty, with some light chocolate and a wisp of smoke. I wish there was some more body to balance the coffee flavors.

Like mentioned above, the body is too weak, with a slightly watery mouthfeel. The carbonation level is fine.

This is a nice attempt, but it's not quite there yet.
