It pours very dark brown with a brown head. It has good retention. It has plenty of roast flavors with vanilla. The alcohol is quite noticabele. There are chocolate elements as well.

Full disclosure - one of my favorite local breweries with one of my favorite brews of theirs....
...that said, now trying to give an objective review - I think I have: Beautifully dark with light notes of roast and booze on the nose. This light boozy scent translates to the taste, which I always find that it is masterful when you have a high ABV and you can't really tell it...until later...Mouthfeel is full-bodied and creamy following along the motor oil look that it has. Great brew...

On tap at the Brix location.
Essentially black body with a good head and but limited lacing.
Smooth, full body with medium-light carbonation. High ABV shows.
The aroma is mild and too boozy.
The flavor has plenty of dark roasted grains, some char, faint smoke, and a reasonable amount of alcohol esters. Hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter-sweet.

Where the Big Boy's go, served in a snifter, solid inky black with a dirty tan head. smokey notes of burnt wood, that was started with whiskey.hints of black cherry and currant, smooth taste not too thick or oily more creamy. more of a smooth ice coffee taste laced with a good bourbon, but not overwhelming in alcohol taste hints of cocoa and currant. Very good for stout lovers.
