Tasted at the brewery taproom in March 2023.
L - Mahogany color with some ruby, but supremely clear. Persistent , dark tan head with thick, solid lacing. A great looking beer.
S - Dark roasted malt and chocolate dominate the nose, just a hint of nuttiness. Light herbal hops.
T - Nutty note and roasted grain dominate; very light chocolate. Herbal and woody hops at a low level.
F - Medium body and moderate carbonation. There is a slight silkiness to the body and an off-dry finish, but it’s not cloying. Low to medium hops bitterness and light alcohol presence.
O - This is a very good porter, but the pecan addition is kept to a low level that makes it hard to identify that this is not a plain Jane porter. Going to a slightly higher nut presence might be fun.
