Tasted at the brewery taproom in March 2023.
L - Beautiful in the glass. Dark brown with ruby highlights, but still lets lots of light through. Brilliant clarity. Moderately persistent tan head.
S - Moderately strong aromas of burnt grain and herbal hops. No pine or citrus. Light smoke in the background.
T - Chocolate and dark toasted bread flavors from malt. Hops don’t assert until the finish, when they appear as gentle herbal and tea-like notes.
F - Light body and gentle carbonation with a dry finish. Medium hops bitterness. Little alcohol presence.
O - This is a very tasty beer that doesn’t neatly fit a style, but that doesn’t affect its enjoyability. A hop-head might be disappointed if they see the name and assume a big West Coast hop presence, but on its own unique merits this is a very good beer.
