On tap at the brewpub in Ukiah.

Pour is light golden, slightly hazy, with a good head and very good lacing.

Aroma: banana and orange pith with a bit of clove and some bisquit.

Flavor: More citrus and more tart than the nose suggests. Also, has coriander.

Feel: very light bodied but this seems OK given the style and carbonation level.

O: a light, refreshing, flavorful wit.

On tap at Ukiah on 7/16/09.

A - Clear, extremely pale yellow body with minimal carbonation and slim white head that faded to a thin ring of retention and left virtually no lacing save for some spotty patches.

S - Black pepper is very apparent in the initial waft. Subsequent whiffs reveal subtle citrus notes suggesting lemon and orange, as well as hints of mild spices and coriander. Malt character is reminiscent of toasted cereal grains.

T - Opens with sweet malts and a citrusy hop character with a subtle spicy kick. Pepper and coriander come to mind. Finish is quite bready and grainy, with an almost cereal-like quality, and is accompanied by a subtle citrus hop bite.

M - Light bodied and watery with a bit of an oily texture. Thin yet smooth mouthfeel. Finishes clean with a spicy flair and mellow hop bitterness on the palate.

D - I really enjoyed the malt character and spicy attributes of this Witbier. Nice peppery kick in there. Great warm weather beer. Surprised by the 6.2% ABV!
