A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2017 (gyle 12), so it's a bit out of date. I'm hoping it has held up. Acquired a while back from a webshop. The brewery takes its name from the Solvay conferences held in Brussels, which brought together physicists and chemists to attempts to answer fundamental questions. This beer is described as a blend between a session IPA and a witbier.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A hazy golden hue with intense carbonation and fine suspended sediment. Yields a huge head of creamy white foam with excellent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Nice lacing.
S: Aroma of bright fruity hops with hints of lemon rind, citrus zest, white grape, subtle grass/hay, earthy yeast, pale malt and a touch of spice. Rather good.
T: Tastes of crisp aromatic hops with notes of sharp lemon, mild citrus zest, subtle white grape, grass/hay, earthy yeast, pale malt and faint spice. Very dry, followed by a delicate hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and good body for the strength. Lightly astringent. Aftertaste of aromatic hops, lemon/citrus, earthy yeast and pale malt.
O: Good stuff, and seems to have aged pretty well. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are fruity, crisp and dry. Nice understated citrus character. Lovely body for a 3.8% brew. Very drinkable - goes down a treat. Well worth sampling.
