L: Had this beer on-tap at Brewmaster, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark brown color and a murky consistency. There was small amount of off white, foamy head that quickly dissipated. Pretty good lacing.
S: A good aroma of dark, roasted malt, a vinous quality, some hops, and toffee.
T: Tasted of a fair amount of hops (less than expected from the style), a good shot of roasted malt, some toffee, dark fruit (plums), lots of the advertised vinous quality and a little piney quality. An interesting flavor all around. The wine and the other elements don't always play well together (can't put my finger on it), but it somehow manages to be kind of tasty.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: In spite of its flaws, this beer is worth a shot. Definitely drinkable.
