The first and only stout so far produced and sold commercially in Iceland.

A - Black with slight ruby tone when lifted against light source. Light brown, thick head.

Sm - Dark malt and roastyness. Slight coco and chocolate with metallic tang

T - Sweet chocolaty malt. Raisins and dates. Ends in a comfortable roasty bitterness.

M - Full body and good carbonation.

D - Nice drinkable stout. There is nothng overwhealming about this beer. It´s just pretty solid all-round.

Pours black with a moderate amount of foam. Roasty oily appearance and smell. Initially it seems to hit the style, but hits burnt parts, salty soy, some chocolate, pickel, and then not too drinkable.Rather average mouthfeel for this style. Thanks Pino.

I had this on-tap at the Icelandic Bar in Reykjavik. Served in a standard pint glass.

Appearance: This beer is black with a finger of thick, tan head that leaves some lacing and a ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell: Very smokey. Some smoked meat qualities with roasted malt and a touch of sweetness.

Taste: This is a very smokey stout. The flavor is very intense. Roasted malt sweetness begins to balance things out, but the finish is still quite bitter and smokey.

Mouthfeel: The body is on the thick side with smooth carbonation and a mild dryness in the finish.

Overall: This is a nice smokey stout. I had no trouble finishing this one and I might have another.

On tap at Islenskii Barrinn in Reykjavik. From notes.

A - Black with a half finger tan head. Carbonation streams up the side of the glass. Leaves a nice ring of tan lacing.

S - More chocolate than coffee for sure. Roasted malt. A little too sweet for me.

T - Chocolate and coffee with coffee playing small fiddle. Roasted malt makes an appearace as well. Quite tasty and more well balanced than the aroma lead me to believe. Slight sourness in the finish.

M - Nice finish with a little lingering bitterness. Nice carbonation right in the light-medium range and a medium bodz.

D - Quite good in the cold weather I think. No faults here that I can see, just a well made stout. Not great, but worth a try.

Served in a wide mouth flute glass.
Appearance: Thin black body with its natural brown tint and even tan head rising a notch above a finger's length. Drops quick after one sip or two with sticky lacing.

Smell: Super light scent of coffee and hops, dissipates quick before first sniff.

Taste: Ruch malts and tasty notes of a lighter coffee. Hops have a crisp feel almost like they infused the brew with cafe Americano.

Mouth: Medoum to heavy carbonation, very light in the stickiness category but more crisp than you think. I like the toastiness of the brew.

Overall: Paired with puffin and minky whale here at the Icelandic Bar in Reykavic and what a great choice. I would love to pick this up in the states and am pretty sure it would be nice addition to the fridge.

Had it on tap at Kjallarinn. Came to table with a finger of medium bubble head. Clear, dark coloring with hints of red. Strong coffee and nutty smell. Medium mouth feel belies its ABV but what is expected. I've been getting spoiled by the quantity of Imperials in the US, but while in Iceland, this is my favorite. Good stuff and will order again.
