I had this on draft 7/22/24 @ the Hopleaf.
Black/brown appearance.
Minimal tan head; minimal lacing remained.
Burnt wood & mild nail polish notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Fresh earth & faint dark chocolate flavors up front; mild nail polish notes on the finish.
I'd advise avoiding this one.

I look forward to a better beer.
16oz can oozed into a snifter shows a nearly onyx body that soaks all light, floats a proud 3/4" head of cocoa powder colored mixed bubbles that falls to an edge-hugging ring and wispy islands. Tiny spotted lacing races to the ring.
Aroma of booze and cocoa dominate with a compliment of rye spice underneath.
Flavors match and add notes of ash, molasses, coffee bean, and vanilla. Not sweet, as the barrel and rye cut through. I could drink this, and this only, for a long time.
Mouthfeel is full, slick, and oily with a solid warmth at the finish and down the gullet.
Overall a pleasure to drink.

A thick oily pour, reminiscent of filthy motor oil, a brown head lingers for a moment, no lacing but a nice oily film covers the glass. Snot maker says dark chocolate, coffee and did I mention booze. Taste buds are thrilled by the vanilla, toffee, raisin, maybe a hint of orange peel. Thick'n chewy texture, smooth and easy drinking for 13%. Shortfuse makes alot of IPA's I had no use for, but their BA stouts and Baltic Porter are terrific!
