A: Pours the brightest gold with a thin white bubbly head that recedes but for a few little spritzy patches on the surface.
A: Smells of the tartest green apples one can find, some champagne, and a little touch of sweet wheat.
T: A surprisingly less than expected tart apple is well complimented by cranberry like flavors and again, a good heft of wheat sweetness.
F: Tart, but not mouth puckering by any means. Light, and crisp, and well balanced.
O: Another wonderful Berliner courtesy of Joe. A no frills yet simply elegant brew. All I need is a fat tire bike tour and a nice little seat at the Schleusenkrug in Tiergarten, along with this bottle and the memories of the day, and I'm a happy man.

A big shout out to Matt for the beer! Maiden is purty. The 24kt gold body shines bright. The carbonation is aggressive as the tiny bubbles race through the body from what seems like every point of the glass. The fizzy, bubbly foam rises like champagne bubbles and falls just as quickly leaving behind a skimpy ring that remains, bolstered by the carbonation. It's a fine looking beer.
The nose is bright and vivid. A sturdy damp wheat base kicks it all off, bringing with it a little twang. A slightly acidic and super vibrant lemon quality joins the party. The barrel aging is done to near perfection. The oak embraces the graininess softly. Damp oak is on the periphery with a little bit of a tannic buttery component that fits well. The beer and barrel work perfectly together. Makes my mouth water.
The flavor follows the nose pretty closely. It pops off with bright lemon. As that settles, in rolls the damp wheat mid palate with a nice twang and some backbone. The lemon quality and twang meld nearly perfectly on the backend. Again, the barrel aging just hugs the overall beer with undercurrents of buttery oak that just fit. While the barrel character doesn't come through quite as well in the flavor profile as the nose, it certainly comes through nicely.
The body is as it should be. The body is light. The bubbles are effervescent and lively. Those bubbles create an incredibly frothy feel, just shy of champagne bubbly. The soft tartness is hugely refreshing and each finishes moderately dry making you want more instantly. This beer is extremely drinkable.
This is an excellent first beer from Sullers Past. It's bright, lively and and hugely drinkable. The smell gets me salivating which follows through every drink. I'll pick this up again in the future, no doubt. The barrel aging was expertly done. Thanks again, Matt! Great choice!

Strong start from this side project of SlapShot Brewing. Aged 11 months in an oak red wine barrel.
Bright gold with a compact layer of creamy meringue foam, plenty of delicate lacing in the glass.
Apple and malic acid aroma with some some oaky vanilla notes in the periphery.
Oak is prominent in the taste with a crisp bright cider character, like a less funky oaky Basque sidra.
Crisp and tart, light bodied with strong carbonation, dead on for the style.
Overall it's tasty and hard to put down, pairs well with charcuterie.
