Frose: Double Coconut Raspberry
Kings Brewing
Kettle Sour
Date: unknown
My friend gave me this; I know nothing about this brewery. This is my first endeavor into what they offer. The temperature is 42 degrees and served in a tulip glass. A creamy and foamy light pink with a salmon color tinge two-fingered head was created. Bits of fruit were left behind from the slow dissipation. Light burgundy gives depth to coloring. The appearance of the beer is average for this style.
Coconut and tart raspberries are the primary aromas. Nosing the beer further, I detect vanilla, lightly toasted malts, and a hint of yeast and sugar. The fruit is ripe are the main aromas.
The coconut balances nicely with the tart raspberries, giving the beer depth. Other flavors are vanilla, lemons, sugar, and lightly toasted malts.
The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. The body is medium, the carbonation is low, and the finish is delicate.
This beer does not have much sourness; however, the fruit component pairs beautifully with the other ingredients. It is splendid to see this beer with a high ABV, yet I could not perceive that. I enjoyed this combination for a kettle sour; I would have liked to taste more sourness.

Sweet and berry tart, vanilla and coconut nose on this one! Taste follows with sweet vanilla coconut notes upfront...and then a raspberry tart finish. This definitely has some raspberry coconut zinger vibes going on...and it's delicious! I just wish the berry-tart vibes were dialed back a bit so that the sweet raspberry and coconut could shine. Good!
