Cagliari 31/7 2014. 33 cl can purchased in Local supermarket Gieffe. Green can in a classic beer label design with then name in white letters in a red band, some corn ears and a coat of arms.
Pours pale yellow with a white head which quickly disappears. Bubbly. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with some sweet malt, metallic alcohol and a light salty tang.
Light carbonation which disappears pretty quickly leaving a feeling that I am actually consuming dishwater.
Slightly metallic taste with some malty sweetness.
Very unpleasant.

"Viktor Pilsner" contract brewed at Brouwerij Martens
66 cl PET Brown bottle
Notes: Clear pale gold body beneath a short head of white. Roughly average head retention, limited lacing. Aroma of lightly grainy-sweet malt with just a hint of grassy and herbal hops. The flavor follows with a stiff bitterness to balances it. Dry finish. Fairly bland and watery "Pilsner" at just 4.0% ABV.

33cl can from a U2 supermarket in Torino. I think I saw 500ml plastic bottles of the same brand brewed by St Martens out of Belgium, but I can't remember. Brewed for "Atlante Srl - Casalecchio Di Reno Italia" - maybe we should add that company as the brand owner and note it's merely contract brewed by Union? Cost was 0.35 euro.
4.0% ABV.
A: Fizzy off-white head fizzles out in 15 seconds. Clear yellow body. Clean-looking.
Typical budget Pilsener fare.
Sm: Water and cheap malted barley. Maybe a blip of Saaz hop character judging by the kiss of muted grass I'm getting. Honey?
Light in intensity.
T: Water and malted barley/Pilsner malt. Yeah, it's insipid - but there are no metallic off-flavours or anything.
Mf: Watery, thin, refreshing (I guess). Overcarbonated.
O: It's an inoffensive budget Pilsner. Better than many supermarket pale lagers I've had in this price range. I'll take bland over syrupy. Certainly drinkable.
