Crowler filled 5/18/18
Pours a huge frothy 2 finger head, I see they got their crowler canner aligned a bit better finally, fades at a med pace, a bit of messy lacing, semi clear semi hazy golden tan color
Nose starts with some fruit and citrus, stone fruit, then into a dank musty piney hop, lots of rind, maybe even melon rind, I think a mosaicy like dank pine almost onion but slightly tropical at the same time, turns a bit cereal and lemon zest
Taste brings more fruit and dank piney notes, a bit of pine sap but not really oniony thankfully, some citrus, more rind thank anything, a little pithy with a touch of grapefruit and melon rind, papaya and a bit of generic tropical notes, little apricot stone fruit, a bit of a sweet syrupy malt but not much, enough to balance, alcohol is hidden well and it's fairly drinkable so it creeps up, although the finish brings a touch of alcohol warmth with the drier finish, fair bitterness kicking in and a little sticky sweet malt, touch more dank pine sap and rind, also getting a bit of lemon zest as it warms and cereal like Kix
Mouth is med to fuller bod, decent carb, just a touch of warming alcohol late
Overall a pretty nice beer, not sure I would call it my favorite hop combination, but it's not bad. Good balance and drinkability, also not a beer I would typically drink in summer, but here we are.
