Freestanding commercial building about a mile north of downtown. Entrance on right side of the building with curved bar along back wall that seats about 15 with plenty of tables about the room and a few on the patio. 12 beers on tap. Single cans to go. Solid pulled pork grilled cheese.

Located outside of downtown, it's not too far. Thinking this was an old car dealership. Pretty spacious inside, nice arced bar, high and low tables. Windows all around, small patio. Great service, 12 taps, cans and crowlers to go .

Just happened to be in the general area on vacation, and overall really enjoyed the beers and food at this place. Beer list skews a bit German, which was why I was drawn to it. Really enjoyed their Schwarzbier. Did a six beer taster, and thought four of them were really solid. Food was pub grub, but with more bells and whistles. Inside space looked nice, but we actually sat outside to enjoy the nice weather.

The facility is pleasant and clean. The staff is super friendly and efficient. I will go here again. I can't rate the food because we didn't eat there, but their menu looks great!

In an old tire shop - and you'll be able to tell because it still smells like tires - and not far from where the fairgrounds used to be sits Desperate Times. It's a little bit of an odd intersection to get into the parking lot but it works. Inside it looks as you might expected it to, re-painted industrial with a lot of windows. The bar is as you enter just to the right, and there are plenty of tables to chose from. Keep in mind, there are not TV's if you sit in the back corner - just in case you want to watch the Penn State game! It's wide open and nice though, and the ceiling is high. The bathrooms are also nice.

The service is good, surprisingly so, and that makes for a better experience. There are 12 beers on tap and they're pretty diverse although they do seem to like German styles. Everything that I've had has been good so I can't complain.

The food is fairly basic and I can't say that I've been impressed, but at the same time I haven't been let down by it.

If you're in the area I'd recommend a stop.

Came here during the Carlisle auto show.

The place could use an upgrade in decor and presentation. It's essentially a single large empty room with about 12 tables and a bar. It could really use a reduction in natural lighting (the front of the restaurant is mostly windows) to increase ambience, and some overhead music to enhance the mood.

Beer selection was great for a new brewery -- 13 homemade beers on draft. I tried the Noble Experiment No. 1, which is an American style IPA "with citrus notes and pine characteristics" according to the menu.

Good choices on food as well -- lots of traditional German options as well as some standard pub fare. I ordered the Cuban ("the Capone"), which was rather good.

Glad to see a brewery this close to the fairgrounds.
