On-draught @ the questionable brewery.
6% ABV (according to the brewery, anyway).
Not getting Saaz's spiciness or grassiness here. Malt backbone feels more like cheap 2-row than pilsner malt proper (e.g. Weyermann).
Drinkable. I doubt it's actually 6% ABV, but even if it were that would be high for the intended style.

My wife & I were in Taupo for an Ironman 70.3 while on vacation in New Zealand so we decided to stop in to Crafty Trout since it was just down the road from our hotel.
This beer pours a clear straw/golden color that shows off some crazy high carbonation along with a bright white, frothy head that dissipates ultra slowly to a thin lacing. 4.5/5 The aroma is very typical of the German Pilsner style with pilsner maltiness and grassy hops really being the only two notes that are really noticeable. There is a bit of white bread and maybe a hint of lemon that come out as the beer warms. 4/5 The flavor is once again typical of the German Pilsner style with pilsner malt and grassy hops dominating the palate with undertones of Cheerios cereal, white bread, and a slight note of green apple. Very clean and simple flavor profile here. 3.75/5 This is a light bodied beer that features a high carbonation burn right off the bat before transitioning into light drying that lingers lightly after swallowing. 4/5 This is a very good representation of the German Pilsner style and is not overly dry, just dry enough. The flavor and aroma really work well together and reflect one another nicely. 4/5
