16oz can, small tulip glass, 2020 vintage.
Copper to orange color with just a swirl of bubbles, no head. There are yeast specks, but it’s not hazy.
Chalky sweet candy, banana, yeasty sweet bread, and there’s definitely a buttery bourbon warmth.
It’s not nearly as sweet as the nose might suggest. It is boozy, but in a refined bourbon way. Bananas foster, lots of bread yeast, sweet caramel, bitter alcohol, fresh berries, whiskey with water.
You could see it’s viscose on the pour and it is. The thicker mouthfeel is complimentary and has enough balance from small but aggressive bubbles.
The bourbon aging is done very tastefully and I like it more than I thought I would. This beer does have some significance for me because of the name and place and people who brewed it.
