We set out to cruise our way through to a recipe for a perfect West Coastish style IPA brewed in the middle of the map and holy crap what an IPA it IS! Van Go is heavily loaded with a wonderful cast of hop characters. Cascade provides the backdrop with late hop and double dry hop additions of Idaho 7, Talus, and Azacca. Pine needle and tropical aromas peak the sense interest and lead to a swirl of grapefruit, citrus, pine resin, and light spice flavor that leaves quite an impression.

Tap pour at Raccoon Motel in Davenport. Served in red plastic cup.
Looks to be deep gold in color, with a bubbly head.
Aroma of fruity and floral hops.
Taste is mildly bitter with flowers. Sweet malt base.
Medium mouth feel. No hop burn. Good carbonation.
It's an IPA with flowers.

Disclaimer: Beer snob from Vermont. Might judge a Midwestern beer with some New England bias. This is a good beer, not a great one. It looks like a red ale, is filtered super clear. Clean taste that comes across less hoppy than it is.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
